Jewelry designer Yuta Ishihara lives and works in Tokyo, Japan. Ishihara studied jewelry design in Tokyo, and in 2008, he started designing and producing custom jewelry.

Ishihara combines his interest and curiosity in traditional and advanced techniques to bring forth a new set of values in jewelry, harnessing the characteristics of Akoya pearls and colored gemstones. His innovative approach is evident in his unique ring collection that repurposes vintage rings and in the necklace clasps and earring backs that he has independently developed as part of his jewelry line. Yuta Ishihara is also the designer of Shihara, as well as the owner and curator of Shihara Lab.
